Professor George Edward Challenger is a fictional Scottish scientist and explorer created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1912, best known for leading the expedition to discover prehistoric life in The Lost World. He is portrayed as an irascible, arrogant, yet brilliant polymath with a booming voice and a massive black beard.

First created in 1912, Professor Challenger is firmly in the public domain.

In our version of the charcter, Professor George Edward Challenger, while grudgingly accepted by his peers thanks to his amazing adventures, is largely an outsider. An unhappy homelife and a an insatiable wanderlust keeps him finding new and exciting challenges. When an ancient repository of knowledge takes up residence in his formidable mind, Challenger must seek the answers to questions that humanity should be afraid to ask.
